News is just in of a large black cat which was sighted at the Amazon Factory at Faulds Park in Gourock this sighting is not far from where I spoke to witnesses last year about a sighting.

We have photograph and video footage of the sighting which we will be showing you tomorrow evening.

Friday 25, May 2007.

After we carried out our own investigations regarding The Greenock Telegraph’s article on the Big Cat that was sighted at the Amazon Factory in Gourock we have discovered that the footage of this is a bit false.

Firstly. You can see that the footage was taken on video camera then transferred onto a mobile phone not as The Telegraph stated it was taken on Mobile Phone.

Next. The big cat appears to be of a brown colour not black as described by The Greenock Telegraph.

I have since contacted Sue Wilson who featured the article and this is what she had to say. ...I have seen the original footage of the big cat and it was captured on close-circuit TV at the Amazon Factory then transferred onto a mobile phone on the original footage it defiantly is a black cat not brown as you are saying it looks.

“My verdict not the big cat I a witnessed“.

Hi there, I have cache (www.geocaching.com) in the hills above Greenock. One of my fellow geocachers had a close encounter with a large dark brown cat (he identifies it as a puma) Spotted Today 25 may 2007 At N 55° 55.570 W 004° 47.648 British Grid: NS 25525 73865 This is in the moorland above the Greenock cut near to the path from Overton cottage to cornalees. Hope this helps ..No picture unfortunately. Regards Spioradsaor
