Felicity.
The photograph below shows the most famous of all the big cats that have been captured in Scotland. On the 29th October 1980 a puma was caught by Ted Noble near Cannich, Inverness-shire. Reports of large cats had been circulating in the area for several months. So Mr. Noble set a baited trap on land at his farm and on the 29th of October 1980 a female puma was caught. The animal had obviously been in captivity and was quite tame. Analysis of its stomach contents revealed however that it had been living in the wild and fending for its self for a period of time. The puma was then given the affectionate name of Felicity and lived out its days at the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie where it died five years later. After the death of Felicity she was taken to a taxidermist and is now on show at the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.
